TSA is the Technology Student Association. The NM TSA was charter in 1978. This career technical student organization (CTSO) aims to prepare well rounded students for this technological world through a primarily CTE focused curriculum and competition.

First, decide your membership category. Red Cap and White Cap are a pay by member affiliation. Red Cap is a chapter with up to 10 members, White Cap is a chapter with more than 10 members but less than 50. For chapters that would like to allow an unlimited amount of students to join, Blue Cap is a flat fee. Learn more about the different chapters here.

Affiliation is just registering your chapter. Although membership is accepted up until the state conference, priority membership is given to chapters that affiliate by November 15. You can affiliate here.

The state conference is where studetns get to showcase all that they have learned in TSA. This event is required to qualify for many of the National Conference events.

TSA provides student members with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of STEM career interest areas. All 70 middle and high school competitions are correlated with national STEM standards and can be integrated into and enhance STEM curriculum.

TSA Chapters are normally funded through chapter fundraising and sponsorship. Some schools require students to pay their student dues. Some school districts fund a portion of the dues, so make sure to check with your district. goes here

TSA is fairly standard in the cost compared to programs like Skills USA, FCCLA, BPA, DECA, and HOSA. We are currently in the process of looking at ways to lower costs associated with participating, because we want as many schools to be able to participate as possible!
